Pirates blank Olympians
SAN DIEGO -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team made the most of their trip to San Diego Mesa College, topping the host Olympians, 9-0, on Monday in a nonconference matchup.
Straight-set wins in singles were turned in by Maddie Koehly (6-2, 6-2), Krystal Hernandez (6-3, 6-2), Haley Moss (6-1, 6-0), Nory Call (6-1, 6-0), Nicole Pham (6-0, 6-0) and Remi Sutton (6-0, 6-0).
In doubles, it was more of the same as Koehly/Moss (8-3) and Pham/Claire Crossman (8-2) posted wins. Call/Sutton won by default.
The Pirates (2-1) will return to action on Tuesday when they open Orange Empire Conference action at home against Saddleback College, beginning at 2 p.m.
