Doubles pace Pirates past Mounties, 5-4
COSTA MESA -- Thanks to a pair of close doubles wins, the Orange Coast College women's tennis team pulled off a 5-4 nonconference win over visiting Mt. San Antonio College on Thursday.
The Pirates (11-4) and Mounties were tied at three after singles competition, thanks to victories by Hayle Moss (6-1, 6-2), Nory Call (7-5, 6-2) and Nicole Pham (6-0, 6-4).
In doubles, Mt. SAC picked up the win in the No. 1 spot, but the Coast teams of Krystal Hernandez and Call (8-6) and Pham and Claire Crossman (8-5) managed to pull out victories to give the victory to the hosts.
Coast will return to action on April 19-20 at the OEC Championships, held at Cypress College.
