Pirates keep on winning with victory over Cypress
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team continued its strong start to the 2012 season with a 9-0 Orange Empire Conference win over visiting Cypress College on Tuesday.
All six singles wins were in straight sets and they were won by Madelyn Koehly (6-3, 7-5), Krystal Hernandez (6-2, 7-6), Haylie Moss (6-3, 6-3), Nory Call (6-1, 6-2), Nicole Pham (6-4, 6-2) and Remi Sutton (6-1, 7-5).
In doubles, it was more of the same as Koehly/Moss (8-3), Hernandez/Call (8-4) and Pham/Sutton (8-2) all performed well.
The win improves the Pirates' record to 5-1 overall, 3-0 in the OEC.
Coast returns to action on Thursday at Irvine Valley College, beginning at 2 p.m.
