Overview
The Orange Coast College Athletics Hall of Fame serves as a lasting tribute to the student-athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors who have significantly shaped the college’s proud athletic legacy. With a rich history of success across multiple sports and a tradition of excellence both on and off the field, the Athletics Hall of Fame honors those whose achievements have brought distinction to Orange Coast College and inspired generations of Pirates.
Currently housed in the foyer of the Basil H. Peterson Gymnasium, the Athletics Hall of Fame showcases the plaques of previous inductees that highlight the outstanding performances, sportsmanship, and the enduring impact of athletics on campus life and the broader community. Inductees exemplify the highest standards of athletic achievement, leadership, and character.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Orange Coast College Athletics Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor the outstanding accomplishments of individuals and teams who have demonstrated excellence in athletics, contributed to the legacy of Orange Coast College sports, and exemplified the values of integrity, dedication, and community. Through celebration and remembrance, we aim to preserve the history of our athletic programs, inspire future generations of student-athletes, and reinforce the role of athletics in building pride, unity, and lifelong success.
Athletics Hall of Fame Nomination Criteria
To ensure that the Orange Coast College Athletics Hall of Fame reflects the highest standards of excellence and integrity, the following criteria guide the nomination and selection process:
Eligibility
1. Student-Athletes
- Must have participated in an officially sanctioned Orange Coast College athletic program.
- Must have demonstrated exceptional athletic achievement (e.g., team records, all-conference honors, individual awards, etc.).
- Must have completed their final season at least five (5) years prior to nomination.
- Must have exhibited strong character, leadership, and sportsmanship both during and after their time at the college.
2. Coaches/Administrators
- Must have served a minimum of five (5) years in a coaching or administrative role within the athletics department.
- Must have made a significant and lasting impact on student-athletes, athletic success, or program development.
- May be nominated any time after their period of service has ended, or with at least 10 years of continuous service.
3. Teams
- Must have achieved an exceptional level of success (e.g., regional or national titles, undefeated seasons, record-breaking accomplishments).
- Must have completed the season at least five (5) years prior to nomination.
4. Contributors/Supporters
- Individuals or groups who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of athletics at Orange Coast College, including through financial support, volunteer service, or community impact.

Nomination Process
- Nominations may be submitted by alumni, staff, faculty, community members, or current/former athletes.
- Each nomination must include:

- A written summary of accomplishments
- Supporting documentation (e.g., newspaper clippings, stats, letters of recommendation, etc.)
