Pirates fall to Warriors, 5-4
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team came up one match short against visiting El Camino, losing 5-4 in a nonconference matchup on Thursday.
After the singles matches, the Pirates (6-3 overall) and Warriors were tied at 3, thanks to OCC wins by Nory Call (6-1, 7-5), Nicole Pham (6-3, 5-7, 6-1) and Remi Sutton (6-4, 6-0).
In doubles, the team of Sutton and Krystal Hernandez prevailed with an 8-6 win, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors returned the favor with a pair of 8-6 doubles wins to prevail.
The Pirates will return to Orange Empire Conference action on Tuesday at Saddleback College, beginning at 2 p.m. OCC's next home match will be Thursday against Fullerton, also at 2 p.m.
