Lumsden takes talents to Cal State Fullerton

COSTA MESA -- Orange Coast College sophomore setter Allison Lumsden will take her athletic and academic talents to Cal State Fullerton, according to head coach Chuck Cutenese.

Lumsden was a two-time, All-Orange Empire Conference standout for the Pirates in 2011 and 2012. In her two-year career, she amassed 1,456 assists, fifth all-time in OCC history.

"She is a natural setter and her setting ability was beautiful to watch," Cutenese said. "She was the silent strength of our program."

Last year, Lumsden helped the Pirates to a 19-3 record and a return trip to the second round of the Southern California Regional playoffs with 758 assists. Her 10.58 assists-per-game average was second-best among setters in 2012.

"Many people saw the hitting of others but it was Allison's setting that gave them the perfect set to hit," Cutenese said.
