Emery's 18 kills lifts Pirates past Griffins
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's volleyball kept good times rolling as the Pirates swept past visiting Grossmont College on Friday night inside the Peterson Gym.
Dillon Emery had 18 kills to lead the Pirates (9-4, 6-1 in Pacific Coast Conference) past the Griffins, 25-19, 25-22, 25-18. Rusty Sary added nine kills for Coast, while teammate Chris Van Vuuren chipped in six.
Libero Victor Schaefer picked up a team-best seven digs, while setter Michael Ensign dished out 34 assists.
The win keeps the Pirates on top of the PCC at 6-1, with Irvine Valley and Golden West one game behind at 5-2.
OCC returns to action on Wednesday at home against IVC, beginning at 6 p.m.
