COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's soccer team managed to put up a touchdown on the LeBard Stadium scoreboard as the Pirates rolled to a 6-0 nonconference win over visiting L.A. Harbor College in the 2025 season opener for both teams.
Midfielder Olivia Hostetler had herself a solid start to the 2025 campaign, scoring three goals in the win. Chantelle Sanches added a goal and an assist, while single goals were scored by Jazmeen Serratos and Taylor Garner.
It was a total, all-around performance for the Pirates, who did an equally stellar job on defense as well. With a dominating performance with ball control and possession time, the Seahawks didn't even record a shot on goal the entire night, while OCC took 29 shots total and 20 on frame. It took a strong performance from LAHC goalkeeper Milly Salas (14 saves) to prevent the score from getting more out of hand.
First-half goals by Serratos (Finley Doucette assist) and Chantelle Sanchez (Maddie Valdez assist) put OCC up for good in the first half, but that 2-0 halftime lead only grew from there in the second half.
Hostetler got hot in the second half and recorded all three goals in a row over a 14-minute span. Kenzie Marker assisted on two of Hostetler's goals, while Sanchez helped on the other. Finally, in the final seconds of the contest, Garner took a Leena Torres pass and found the back of the net for OCC's sixth and final goal of the afternoon.
Coast will now head up to Ventura College for the their annual weekend tournament, starting on Thursday against Long Beach City College, beginning at 1:30 p.m. OCC's next home contest will take place on Tuesday against Miramar College, beginning at 3 p.m. at the OCC Soccer Complex.
