Pirates roll to another OEC win
PALM DESERT -- The Orange Coast College women's golf team continues its strong start to the 2025 season with another first-place team performance at this week's Orange Empire Conference match, hosted by College of the Desert, on Wednesday at Ironwood Golf Course.
Coast went 4-0 against the field with a team score of 316, followed by Mt. San Antonio (337), Cuyamaca (415), Fullerton (447) and host COD (no team score).
Nalani Sam was the low-round scorer for the Pirates on Wednesday as she shot a 4-over-par, 76, one shot ahead of Mt. SAC's Kaitlyn Wang, who carded a 77. OCC's Michelle Khin joined Sam and Wang as the lone sub-80 golfers after shooting a 78.
Sophia Ingle was close behind after shooting an 80 for the Pirates, followed by Sophie Thibodeau (82), Lilly Thurston (86) and Audrey Crinella (87).
The OEC golfers will return to action at Cottonwood Golf Club, as the Pirates take on the rest of the conference on Wednesday, beginning at 11 a.m.
