Pirates place third at Regional Preview
CHINO HILLS -- Led by a photo finish by all four of its golfers, the Orange Coast College women's golf team finished third overall at the 2024 Regional Preview match on Monday, played at Los Serranos Golf Club.
Jeanie Tahvildari earned the low round for the Pirates by carding a solid score of 82. Moe Pyae Sone Khin was just one shot off of Tahvildari's pace and carded an 83, with Delylah Collins and Sophia Tipton two back with a pair of 84s.
Other solid OCC scores included Taylor Tuxford with a 91 and Lillian Thurston with a 99.
OCC's team score of 333 trailed only Mt. San Antonio (313) and Reedley College (329) in a field with some of the top teams in the state competing. Other team scores included Cuyamaca (337), Modesto (341) Fullerton (381), Sierra (394), San Joaquin Delta (396) and Mt. San Jacinto (429).
The Pirates will return to Orange Empire Conference action on Monday as they host the other OEC teams at Costa Mesa Country Club (Los Lagos course), beginning at 11 a.m.
