- COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's basketball team scored early in often, en route to a convincing 92-49 nonconference win over visiting Sacramento City College on Tuesday afternoon inside the Peterson Gym.
The Pirates (6-2) started out hot and never looked back, outscoring the Panthers (2-6), 27-9 in the opening quarter and 50-26 at the half.
The depth of the Pirates can not be ignored. Coast scored 46 points from its starting five and 46 points from its never-ending selections on the bench.
Thirteen different OCC players found the scoresheet, with Andrea Rico and Bianca Carter each leading the way with 13 points. Melaiah Joseph added 12 points, while Madisyn Foulk knocked down 10 points.
Among the reserve standouts, McKenzie Gillman nearly pulled off a double-double in just 15 minutes with nine points and 10 rebounds. Starter Nicole Uballe added seven points to go along with a team-best 11 rebounds.
Leilani Edinburgh and Sierra Tuilau each led the Panthers' offense with 10 points.
The Pirates will return to action on Friday, Dec. 5 in the OCC Crossover against Long Beach City College, beginning at 5 p.m.
