Pirates find win column with victory over Hornets

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team took care of business on Tuesday with an 8-1 Orange Empire Conference win over visiting Fullerton College at the OCC Tennis Complex.

The Pirates (7-7, 2-2) kicked things off with a strong sweep over the Hornets in doubles. Julian Pittl/Sacha Mege (8-4), Jie Kashiwagi/Josh Hennig (8-4), Nicolas Moore/Ethan Medel (8-0) helped lead the way for a 3-0 lead for the Pirates.

It was more of the same in singles play with straight-set wins coming from Pittl (6-1, 7-5), Hennig (6-2, 6-2), Moore (6-1, 6-1), Medel (6-1, 6-0) and Eliot Rademaekers (6-2, 6-0).

The win snapped a four-game slide for the Pirates and gives them some momentum as the same two teams meet again on Thursday at Fullerton College, beginning at 2 p.m.
