Pirates open strong, but fall to Seahawks, 2-1

COSTA MESA -- The opening minute wasn't a sign of things to come for the Orange Coast College men's soccer team in Friday's 2-1 nonconference loss to visiting L.A. Harbor.

OCC (1-1) took the opening possession and found the back of the net as Jose Rodriguez took a pass from Antonio Gonzalez and ripped a shot into the back of the net, putting the Pirates up 1-0.

But that would be it for the Coast offense the rest of the afternoon as the Seahawks answered with a pair of first-half goals and held on from there.

Tyler Folkins stopped six shots for the Pirates, who return to action on Wednesday at the OCC Soccer Complex against San Diego Mesa, beginning at 4 p.m.
