Former Pirate football great Rhett Tucker dies

Former Orange Coast College football standout, Rhett Tucker, the son of Pirate hall of fame coach Dick Tucker, passed away on Thursday at the age of 63.

Tucker, who played for the Pirates from 1975-76, was a member of OCC's 1975 national championship team. During his two years at Coast, Tucker set (and still holds) the school's single-season record for tackles (179) as well as the career mark of 213 tackles. His career mark was surpassed by Chris Clayton (235) in 1997-98 and again by Dustin Davis (237) in 1999-2000.
