Pirates roll to big win over Hornets

FULLERTON -- It was smooth sailing for the Orange Coast College men's water polo team as they opened Orange Empire Conference play with a 26-11 win at Fullerton College on Wednesday.
The goals came early and often for the Pirates (8-3, 1-0) as they scored 18 first-half tallies and never looked back.
Sammuel McBeth led Coast with five goals, while AJ Sexton tossed in four to go along with four assists and two steals. Jackson Williams and Owen Cugoni each had three goals, while the goalie tandem of Dominic Neves and Alex Frederick combined for 13 saves in the win over the Hornets (2-5, 0-1).
Coast will head up to Cuesta College this weekend before returning to the OCC Aquatic Complex to take on Riverside City College on Wednesday, beginning at 1 p.m.
