Pirates improve by 22 at Steele Canyon
JAMUL -- The Orange Coast College men's golf team showed a 22-shot improvement from their previous performance and finished sixth overall at Wednesday's Orange Empire Conference matchup at Steele Canyon Golf Club.
After shooting a team score of 334 at Victor Valley a week ago, the Pirates bounced back and carded a team score of 312 on Wednesday.
Brendan Barker was the low shooter for the Pirates at Steele Canyon and he carded an even-par, 72 for the round. Barker's 72 was just two shots off the low round of the afternoon, which was turned in by Victor Valley College's Brady McColm (70).
Nico Flemer and Giovanni Fontana each shot 6-over, 78s, followed by Nic Borelli (84), Nate Beckner (85) and Yuto Tsukui (85).
The Pirates will take on the OEC field next at El Prado Golf Club on Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m.
