Pirate women set to go for SoCal Track Finals

COSTA MESA -- There will be plenty of blue and orange on the Saddleback College track this Saturday as the Orange Coast College women's track and field team will be well represented at the 2025 Southern California Regional Finals, which begins at 10 a.m.

The Pirates, who finished fifth in the state at last year's 3C2A State Finals, will look to bring plenty of athletes to this year's State Finals, which take place May 16-17 at the College of San Mateo.

Leading the way for the Coast women include sophomores Abigail Gavrilovic and Liberty Miller. Gavrilovic will compete in three events on Saturday after qualifying first in the discus, second in the hammer throw and seventh in the shot put.

Miller, earned the fastest SoCal Preliminary time in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4 minutes, 38.63 seconds, 10 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Miller will also lace'em up for the 5,000 after earning a spot in the finals, joining teammates Luna Centeno and Belle Baker.

Another three-event qualifier will be Jasmin Trujillo, who qualified fourth in the 400, sixth in the 200 and 11th in the long jump.

Sprinter Chloe Guerena finished her 200 prelim second overall with a time of 24.9, just .4 off of the top regional time. She will also compete in the 100, where she qualified ninth.

Other OCC qualifiers for Saturday's finals include Baker in the 1,500, Kiarah Palacio in the javelin and pole vault, Ana Chupinsky in the triple jump and 400 hurdles, Sara Chupinsky in the high jump and OCC's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.

Complete results for Saturday's finals will be posted HERE
