Pirates slip past Roadrunners, 1-0
| WHITTIER -- The Orange Coast College women's soccer team kept the road show rolling on the right road with a 1-0 win at Rio Hondo College on Wednesday afternoon. OCC (3-0) took the lead for good in the 60th minute. A deflection from a clearing attempt went off of Pirate sophomore Emma Pridmore toward the empty net, where teammate Sara Gomez outran a Roadrunner defender to the ball and put it in the back of the net. That would be all the Pirates would need as Kate O'Banion earned her third shutout win of the year with a four-save effort. OCC will return to the road on Friday and will play at L.A. Harbor College, beginning at 2 p.m. |
