Bio
Nancy Hatsushi-Rogers was a standout point guard for the Pirates from 2001–2003 and her strong play during her two-year career forever left a mark with the women’s basketball program. Her amazing contributions as a sophomore helped propel the Pirates to their first state title in women’s basketball. In the state semifinals against the state’s No. 1 ranked team — Ventura — Hatsushi-Rogers scored 13 points, including two clutch free throws with 47.9 seconds left which proved to be the game-winning points. She earned State Tournament MVP honors thanks to a 20-point, five-rebound, four-assist performance against Contra Costa as Coast prevailed, 69–61. She finished the tournament by averaging 15.3 points, four rebounds and four assists per game. She ranks eighth in OCC’s history in assists, both for a single season (175 in 2002–03) and for a career (261), and holds the team’s all-time 3-point shooting percentage record for a single season (.448 in 2001–02).
Following Coast, Nancy played two more years at Concordia University, where she started every game she played. As a senior, she was named team Captain and team MVP and was an academic all-conference selection for the Golden State Athletic Conference and an All-American Scholar Athlete by the NAIA for both seasons. Nancy is ranked in CU’s top-10 in career assists (eighth), single-season assists (third) and single-game assists (fifth).
