COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's water polo team hosted Grossmont and Ventura colleges in a full day's worth of action on Saturday and in the end the Pirates notched a pair of wins over their guests.
The Pirates (18-6) got things going in the morning with a 15-9 win over Grossmont. Coast jumped out to a 4-2 lead after one quarter and despite a strong effort in the second quarter from the shorthanded Griffins (10-9), the Pirates kept the pressure on, scoring six of the next seven goals overall to pull away.
