Title: Assistant Coach -- Quarterbacks

Ray De Avila returns to the Pirates for his fifth season at OCC as the quarterback coach and offensive assistant. 

Coach De Avila attended Saddleback Community College in 1980-81 where he played football for Bill Cunerty and the Gauchos who ended the season 11-0 and Mission Bowl Champions, he later transferred to San Diego State University where he graduated with a degree in Business and Communications.

Prior to joining Orange Coast, some of De Avila’s experience includes coaching at Irvine High School with Terry Henigan and most recently Saddleback Valley Christian where over the past 3 years the Warriors averaged 37 points per game and won 3 consecutive league championships. 

De Avila has had the good fortune of playing for, studying and coaching football for over 25 years with some of the best and specializes in offense and the development of quarterbacks.  

De Avila resides in San Clemente with his wife and 3 boys – Luke, Jack and Carson.
