A longtime familiar face of Pirate Baseball, Kent Watanabe joins the Pirate coaching staff for his second season.
Watanabe has been involved with the OCC program since 2008, when his son, Jourdan, played for the Pirates. Sadly, Jourdan died in 2009, but Kent remained involved with the Pirates, helping out in numerous capacities.
Forever welcomed at Wendell Pickens Field, Kent will help out in several different areas of the team, including working with hitters, offensive charting and hitter game management.
Originally from Honolulu, HI, Kent and his wife, Anne, reside in Irvine.
